Mount Pleasant box was the mirror image of St Denys and controlled the busy road crossing and Mount Pleasant sidings.
When the box was originally built, Mount Pleasant Road skirted the water`s edge, a nearby house advertised boats for hire in the end brickwork.
This house is now demolished in 2002 as part of the redevelopment of Northam sidings into a maintainence depot for SWTs new trains.
